On December 29, 2015, APRC representatives attended a presentation of the strategy on Food Security (FS) prepared by the working group on food security chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) with the support of OXFAM.

The main goal of the meeting was to present recommendations on the FS Strategy of Georgia. The document resented at the meeting addressed the main dimensions of FS particularly focusing on “Availability” and “Access” dimensions. It included recommendations to develop FS law or program, support of domestic food production with the aim of import substitution, and the resolution of land utilization issues. The document also included a section about strategy development and implementation. Coordination among local and foreign stakeholders involved in FS as well as issues related to statistics and human resources have also been discussed in the presentation.

The presentation was followed by a lively and interesting discussion.
