ISET continues to challenge its BA students to think about economics and apply knowledge gained during their studies in everyday life. On October 19, 2017, Eric Livny, President of ISET and BA Program Director, conducted a very intriguing discussion on how to start a business in Georgia and what factors one has to initially take into account. The discussion centered on a real case study of a successful Georgian company and aimed to introduce the importance of transportation costs, technology, the availability of raw materials, and fixed costs in real life. Mr. Livny illustrated to the students how concepts and plans transcend from theory to practice and encouraged them to challenge themselves and scrutinize their own ideas. In addition, the students had to think about the importance of mistakes in the business sector, which led to a lively but productive debate.
