We are super excited for our undergrads, Levan Mikeladze’21 and Sergo Gadelia’21 for their huge success!
As a result of fierce competition, Levan and Sergo became finalists for IMF’s outreach initiative, the Fund Challenge! – Competition targeting undergraduate economics students enrolled at institutions of higher learning in any Middle East and Central Asia Department (MCD) member country.
The competition required participants from 35 MCD countries to complete an online course in Macroeconomic Diagnostics (MDSx), provided online by the IMF, after the successful completion of which they were given a new case study to analyze.
Levan and Sergo, as a finalist team, are visiting IMF Spring Meetings in Washington D.C. where they have an opportunity to meet with policymakers, members of academia, and civil society organizations from around the world. Finalists will also present their analysis to other participants of the Spring Meetings, attend seminars, press conferences, and other activities.
The ‘Fund Challenge’ project aims to foster a passion and understanding of basic macroeconomic analysis at the undergraduate level, promote familiarity with the work of the Fund, and nurture dialogue with the young population of MCD countries.
