Status: Complated
Project Milestones: Start date: 13.07.2020 End Date: 19.10.2020

In order to equip citizens with knowledge and information on political parties' programs and help voters explore which political party is closest to their views, the ISET Policy Institute participated in designing and implementing Election Compass Georgia, a collaborative effort of Georgian institutions and countries' development partner organizations.

The Election Compass was put into practice by the Eastern European Center for Multiparty Democracy (EECMD), ISET Policy Institute, Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) Georgia, and the Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP);  supported by the United States Agency for International Development, a number of German political foundations, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and implemented by International Republican Institute (IRI), the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

ISET Policy Institute employed its academic and coding teams to support the creation of the Election Compass through:

Reviewing and analyzing the platforms and programs of the major political parties included in the Election Compass

Monitoring traditional media and social media to track the political party statements

Creating the statements across different policy areas to incorporate into the Election Compass

Mapping the political parties in the Election Compass

Coding the elaborated statements based on the parties' ideological and economic positions.
