ISET Policy Institute, with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is developing training sessions that will provide journalists and advanced journalism students with an introduction to the key concepts and core ideas from energy economics and environmental economics.
The main objective of this initiative is to increase the capacity of Georgian journalists to understand and discuss the policy challenges associated with the development of a greener, circular economy; climate change mitigation and adaptation; alongside the specific energy, environmental, and broader economic policies adopted by the Georgian government.
After the training, participants from the Georgian media will have a greater capacity to gather, process, and disseminate information about these issues. Thereby trainees will contribute to the improved quality of information on these topics, while reaching an increasingly more prominent section of the Georgian populace, facilitating the transition towards a green and circular economy, as well as aiding the adoption of measures for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
