ReforMeter holds public-private dialogue on ecommerce reform
Thursday, 17 February, 2022

On 17 February, ReforMeter hosted its first public-private dialogue on E-commerce reform.

The event highlighted the core issues, challenges, and recommendations behind the creation of a Georgian E-commerce policy. Changes to the legal framework of the E-commerce reform were also discussed during the PPD; with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development presenting the Draft Law on E-commerce, and representatives from Georgian Parliament and Sakpatenti discussing the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and the Law on Copyrights and Related Rights, respectively.

Critically, these E-commerce reforms should broaden the overall credibility of the sector, contribute to the introduction of international standards and best practices, and expand the country’s potential internationally.
