PMCG and ISET Policy Institute organized a validation workshop for their joint research project "Sub-sector/Value Chain Analysis for Georgian SME Export Growth." The event took place on November 14, 2024, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Tbilisi.
The workshop brought together private sector representatives in a closed working group format. Leading economists Giorgi Papava from ISET Policy Institute and Nika Kapanadze from PMCG, along with their research teams, presented key findings from the study, followed by an interactive discussion and feedback session.
The research project is being implemented under the "Inclusive Access to Markets" (IA2M) program, funded by the European Union and UNDP with support from the Estonian Center for International Development. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and Enterprise Georgia.
Project Manager Giorgi Tsimintia from UNDP joined ISET's Giorgi Papava in opening the workshop. The research team, including Giorgi Papava, Lead Economist of the ISET Policy Institute, Nika Kapanadze and Mikheil Skhiereli of PMCG, presented their findings.
The workshop aimed to gather stakeholder feedback on the research findings before presenting the final report to a broader audience, ensuring that the study effectively addresses the needs and challenges of Georgian SMEs in expanding their export capabilities.
This validation workshop represents an important step in developing evidence-based recommendations for enhancing Georgian SMEs' export potential and their integration into global value chains.
