MediaTOR – First Training Module Comes to a Close
Friday, 28 January, 2022

The first MediaTOR training module on “Reporting on Economy” is approaching its end. This particular module was led by Maka Antidze – a Georgian reporter with extensive international journalistic experience.

“Reporting on Economy” was just the first module offered under the MediaTOR training project, and it covered both the essentials and the main standards for business and economic reporting. Under the practical components of the project, MediaTOR participant journalists will soon start publishing media content based on knowledge acquired from their training. These journalists also met with two notable experts on the subject during the first module – Giorgi Gurgenidze, the Head of Capital Market Development and the Pension Reform Department at MoESD, and George Amzashvili, Capital Markets Advisor for the USAID Economic Governance Program.

The MediaTOR training series will continue until April, with two further modules on the way – “New Media” training, led by Elene Kvanchilashvili, Executive Editor at Forbes Georgia, host and author at BMG; and “Data Journalism”, led by Nino Bakradze, co-founder, and editor of iFact. Once the training component has been completed, we’re happy to announce that these MediaTOR-trained journalists will collaborate with ISET-PI researchers to produce joint blogs.
