On January 14-16, 2016 ISET-PI’s Senior Researcher Nino Doghonadze attended a conference centered on the discussion of, “Economics, Health and Happiness” in Lugano, Switzerland. The conference brought together interdisciplinary researchers from approximately 60 countries. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Business Economics, Health & Social Care of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, HEIRS, and SSPH+.
The conference covered a wide variety of topics from genetics of happiness as well as an attempt to measure the Buddhist definition of happiness, Nino presented her working paper co-authored with ISET professors Karine Torosyan and Norberto Pignatti, titled “The choice of women between employment and homestay, and their happiness and life satisfaction: the case of the South Caucasus”. Nino received positive feedback from the participants of the conference and valuable comments which she will use to revise her paper.
Nino attended the conference thanks to generous support from the Swiss National Science Foundation’s SCOPES program. ISET joins her in thanking the foundation for giving our researcher the possibility to attend a fascinating conference, present her research and getting valuable feedback.
