ISET-PI Concludes TVET Project
Friday, 23 February, 2018

On February 23, ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI) hosted a final dissemination event under the “Strengthening Entrepreneurial Training in the Formal TVET System” project, implemented within the small grants scheme of the Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia, and funded by the US Millennium Challenge Corporation.

The project as a whole sought to bring entrepreneurship classes (and real-life Georgian business cases) to Georgian VET institutions. It was implemented by ISET-PI in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Agency (EDA), the professional colleges Gantiadi (Gori) and Prestige (Telavi), as well as the Vocational Education and Training Center in Gldani.

The program included three presentations: one dealt with the key findings from a previous ISET study of how to improve the teaching of entrepreneurship in the Georgian TVET system; another detailed a short report on the results of the MCA-supported project; and, finally, one original business case developed within the scope of the project was discussed and analyzed. The auditorium enjoyed the teaching process of the case, as it was very interactive. Case-based teaching has been used in previous projects and proved to be successful through piloting this methodology in the three partner colleges. Business case-based teaching improves the delivery of entrepreneurship training, and (most importantly) inspires future entrepreneurs.

The event was concluded with an expert panel discussion of how to mainstream business case-based teaching of entrepreneurship in the TVET system and beyond.
