ISET’s track record in sending its graduates into prestigious jobs or Ph.D. programs speaks for itself, and these opportunities are major points of attraction for would-be ISETers. However, the benefits of becoming an ISET graduate are best demonstrated when members of its alumni return and connect with the next generations.

Almost as soon as they are through the front doors, new arrivals to ISET are told that the institute is like a family, and it does not take long before the truth of these words is proved. ISET alumni frequently come back to visit, and not just to pay friendly visits to their old professors: many have gone on to work prestigious jobs in both the government and private sectors or earn PhDs in American and European universities, and so return to ISET to present on topics that will be of interest to the community, both old and new.

ყველაფერი ჩემი სამაგისტრო ნაშრომით დაიწყო, რომლის საშუალებითაც ვეცადე, საქართველოში ეთნიკურ ქართველებსა და უმცირესობებს შორის ხელფასების სხვაობის მიზეზები გამეგო. მას შემდეგ ათ წელიწადზე მეტი გავიდა და ერთ-ერთი წამყვანი ჟურნალი სტატიას აქვეყნებს იმ ექსპერიმენტული მტკიცებულებების გამოყენებით, რომლებიც მე და ჩემმა კოლეგებმა შევაგროვეთ და გავაანალიზეთ შრომის ბაზრის თავისებურებების შესახებ ეთნიკურ უმცირესობებსა და ქალებთან მიმართებაში.

საქართველოს ამერიკელ და დასავლეთ ევროპელ სტუმრებს ანცვიფრებთ ის, რომ საშუალო ასაკის ქართველი ტაქსის მძღოლები ხშირად ტრაბახობენ რამდენიმე დიპლომით, ხოლო სასტუმროს მისაღებებსა თუ მაღაზიაში ასისტენტად მომუშავე ახალგაზრდები ხშირად სამართლის, ბიზნესისა თუ საერთაშორისო ურთიერთობების ფაკულტეტდამთავრებულები არიან. თბილისში რამდენიმე დღის გატარების შემდეგ სტუმრებს, შესაძლოა, შეექმნათ წარმოდგენა, რომ საქართველოში იმდენად ჭარბია ადამიანური კაპიტალი, რომ ამ საკმაოდ მარტივ პოზიციებზე ძალიან დიდი კონკურენციაა.

On February 20, ISET students delivered yet another policy seminar. The seminar was opened by Eric Livny, the president of ISET, who delivered an inspirational speech regarding the jobs of the future. He posed the question, “In this rapidly changing world, what do we need to teach schoolchildren today so that their skills and knowledge are still relevant ten or twenty years from now?”.
