On 21-22 June 2023, Yaroslava Babych of the ISET Policy Institute took part in a two-day conference “The playing field in academia: Why are women still underrepresented?” held within the Forum for Research on Gender Economics (FROGEE) initiative co-organized by the Forum for Research on Eastern Europe and Emerging Economies (FREE Network), and Stockholm Institute for Transition Economies (SITE) and hosted in Warsaw, Poland by the Centre for Economic Analysis (CenEA), one of the partnering organizations of the FREE Network.
Dr. Babych discussed her recent collaborative research work on the glass ceiling for women in academia in the South Caucasus and took part in a panel discussion entitled "Career’s early stage: ensuring a fair start Introduction". The panel discussion featured Federica Braccioli from the Université de Genève, IAE-CSIC, and Barcelona School of Economics, Alessandra Casarico from the Università Bocconi, Marta Gmurek from the Lodz University of Technology, alongside Dr. Babych. The panel discussion was moderated by Maria Perrotta Berlin from the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE).
The conference combined contributed sessions, invited lectures, and policy discussions.
