On March 3, 2022, ISET Policy Institute Lead Economist Yaroslava Babych and Director Tamar Sulukhia spoke at the international Webinar “The Sanctions on Russia, and their impact on the region”. The Webinar was organized by the Stockholm Institute of Transitional Economies and the Free Network (which is sponsored by Sida) and discussed the impacts of Russia’s war in Ukraine on the region, with a focus on the economic effects of sanctions in Russia and the region. Other speakers were free Network representatives – Torbjörn Becker, Director of SITE, Lev Lvovsky, BEROC Research Fellow, Nataliia Shapoval, Chairman of KSE Institute, joined by Larry Samuelson, Professor at Yale and Cowles Foundation. Yaroslava Babych spoke about economic consequences for Georgia and Tamara Sulukhia focused on the historical context of Russian aggression in Georgia.
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression in Ukraine ISET Policy Institute representatives are actively engaged in analyzing and commenting on the economic impacts on Georgia through various media sources – TV, social media, ISET-PI website.
