ISET Policy Institute, as a host institution for the Eastern Partnership Road Safety Observatory (EaP RSO), participated in the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety held in Marrakech, Morocco on February 18-20, 2025.
The conference, themed "Commit to Life," brought together leaders and experts from around the world to accelerate action towards the Sustainable Development Goals' target of halving global road deaths by 2030.
During the conference, the ISET Policy Institute hosted a side event that featured short introductory speeches from European Commission and World Bank representatives and provided networking opportunities for attendees to learn more about the work of the EaP RSO Technical Secretariat and its participating countries.
The Eastern Partnership Road Safety Observatory (EaP RSO) is a joint initiative of the five Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – with the common goal of reducing road casualties by 50% by 2030.
The Technical Secretariat for the Observatory is hosted by Georgia and led by the ISET Policy Institute (Georgia) and EASST – Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (UK). Funded by the European Union and supported by the World Bank, the Observatory houses country-level data and will act as a catalyst for strengthening national road safety data collection, management and analysis. Its aim is to monitor road safety data beyond that derived from crashes and share good practices to help create a solid body of evidence essential for road safety policy development.
