In December 2025, the average cost of preparing one standard Imeretian khachapuri increased to 7.86 GEL, marking a 5.2% rise compared to November 2025 and a notable 11.8% increase compared to December 2024.

Traditionally, during the festive season, characterized by heightened demand driven by preparations for Christmas and New Year's supras, the index tends to rise month-on-month. In December 2025, cheese prices recorded the sharpest monthly increase (+8.9%), followed by yeast (+5.2%), eggs (+3.0%), and milk (+0.2%), while prices of other ingredients slightly declined.

On an annual basis, the Khachapuri Index increased across all ingredients except milk, which recorded a 1.9% decrease. The largest annual increase was observed in egg prices (+22.8%), followed by cheese (+13.3%), butter (+13.1%), yeast (+6.1%), and flour (+6.0%).

From a longer-term perspective, the data illustrates a clear upward trend in the Khachapuri Index over the past decade. Between December 2016 and December 2025, the average cost of preparing one standard Imeretian khachapuri more than doubled, from 3.61 GEL to 7.86 GEL. The December 2025 value represents the highest level recorded to date, confirming a renewed upward trajectory in the index.
