In July 2025, the average cost of cooking one standard portion of Imeretian khachapuri stood at 6.39 GEL, reflecting a 1.7% increase compared to June 2025. On an annual basis, the price rose by 10.4% compared to July 2024, pointing to strong upward pressure in food prices.
Compared to June 2025, prices of most khachapuri ingredients increased: Flour (+10.9%), Eggs (+1.3%), Yeast (+1.7%), and Butter (+6.2%). Cheese prices remained almost unchanged (–0.1%), while Milk recorded a modest decline (–1.0%), reflecting the start of seasonal fluctuations in domestic milk production.
On an annual basis, Cheese (+14.9%) and Eggs (+11.1%) recorded the steepest increases, followed by Butter (+9.2%) and Flour (+5.3%). Yeast rose by 3.1% year-on-year, while Milk prices declined (–3.7%).
Among regional markets, Telavi is the most expensive, with the cost of one standard Imeretian khachapuri reaching 7.41 GEL—16% above the national average. Batumi follows at 6.98 GEL, while Kutaisi is the cheapest at just 5.01 GEL. This regional gap can be explained by strong seasonal tourism demand in Kakheti (Telavi) and Adjara (Batumi), while Imereti (Kutaisi), as Georgia’s main milk-producing region, benefits from local production that helps keep prices lower.
