On February 26, 2019, the APRC participated in a meeting on sustainable land management and green agriculture in Georgia. The event was organized by REC Caucasus and gathered more than 60 participants from the public and private sectors. The representatives of different organizations (e.g., GIZ, IFAD, FAO), as well as a number of farmers, shared information on their projects and activities related to climate-smart agriculture and sustainable land management in Georgia.

წყლის დისტრიბუციის ქსელისთვის დამახასიათებელი მოცულობითი და ქრონიკული დანაკარგები ქართული წყალმომარაგების ერთ-ერთი ყველაზე მნიშვნელოვანი გამოწვევაა. მხოლოდ ურბანულ ცენტრებში, წყლის მიწოდების დაახლოებით 700 მილიონი კუბური მეტრი არაშემოსავლიანი (Non-Revenue Water – NRW) წყლის წარმოებაზე მოდის. წყლის დანაკარგების მაღალი მაჩვენებლები საოპერაციო ხარჯებს ზრდის და, შესაბამისად, წყალმომარაგების არაეფექტიან საოპერაციო სისტემამდე მივყავართ.

On February 14, Prof. Muhammad Asali delivered a research seminar and presented his work on the relationship between the labor market and the healthiness of the economy. The paper, entitled “Labor Market Discrimination and the Macroeconomy,” which is a joint work with his former student Ms. Rusudan Gurashvili, aimed at measuring and documenting the discriminatory wage gaps in Georgia within gender and ethnic dimensions.
