ISET-PI researcher Laura Manukyan of the Social Policy Research Center is excited to share her experience gained through professional development programs over the summer. She participated in two international summer schools, entitled “Inequality of Educational Opportunities” and “BRICS Global Business and Innovations”, organized by the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow and St. Petersburg respectively. Both included lectures, practical sessions, as well as group projects.

ქვეყანაში გენდერული თანასწორობა კონსტიტუციით არის უზრუნველყოფილი. შესაბამისად, კაცებსა და ქალებს თანაბარი უფლებები აქვთ მიწის ფლობაზე, მემკვიდრეობის მიღებაზე. თუმცა საქართველოში, ისევე, როგორც ბევრ განვითარებად ქვეყანაში, მიწის საკუთრების საკითხებს დიდწილად კულტურული ფასეულობები განსაზღვრავს.

On April 6, ISET hosted a seminary by World Bank Senior Director on Gender Ms. Caren Grown, on Gender Equality as a Smart Development Policy in Georgia. Ms. Caren Grown was invited as part of the anti-corruption course jointly organized by ISET and the NHH (the Norwegian School of Economics).

მსოფლიო ბანკის „ბიზნესის კეთების“, საერთაშორისო გამჭვირვალობის „კორუფციის აღქმისა“ და ბევრი სხვა საერთაშორისო ინდექსის მსგავსად, არც ევროპის რეკონსტრუქციისა და განვითარების ბანკის (EBRD) „გარდამავალი ქვეყნების ანგარიშები“ იშურებდა პოზიტიურ მესიჯებს საქართველოსთვის – 2003 წლის ვარდების რევოლუციის შემდეგ აღმოსავლეთ ევროპის თითით საჩვენებლად ქცეული გარდამავალ ეტაპზე მყოფი ქვეყნისთვის.

On November 10, ISET hosted an EBRD group with a keynote speaker, Alexander Plekhanov, Deputy Director of Research at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. He presented the EBRD’s Transition Report, entitled “Transition for All: Equal Opportunities in an Unequal World”.
