Mr. Livny chose to devote his TEDx talk to the challenge of bringing education and light to Georgia’s remote villages. He told the story of Dzevri, a tiny village in Imereti, which used the help of an American couple, Cathy McLain and Roy Southworth, to revolutionize the local school. In just three years, college enrolment for local school graduates went from zero to almost 100%.

ნინო კაკულია სამტრედიაში დაიბადა 1991 წლის 15 ოქტომბერს, როდესაც საქართველოს საბჭოთა სოციალისტური რესპუბლიკა არსებობის უკანასკნელ დღეებს ითვლიდა. 2004 წელს, როდესაც ნინო და დამოუკიდებელი საქართველო მე-13 დაბადების დღეს აღნიშნავდნენ, ქვეყნის მთავრობამ დაიწყო დიდი ხნის დაგვიანებული რეფორმების სერია, რომელთაგან ერთ-ერთი ქვეყნის უმაღლესი განათლების სისტემაში ფესვგადგმული კორუფციის აღმოფხვრას ეხებოდა.

ISET is proud to welcome Maria De Paola, a visiting professor working at the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance at the University of Calabria in Italy. Currently an Associate Professor of Economics, Maria obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Rome.

ISET is pleased to announce the excellent achievements of our alumni, Nino Doghonadze (class 2012) and Saba Devdariani (class 2014). Having worked the last few years as researchers at the ISET Policy Institute, Nino and Saba decided to continue their education abroad.

On March 30-31 ISET-PI team took part in an interim research workshop conducted within the framework of a multi-country study “Good Jobs for Inclusive Growth in Central and West Asia” organized and financed by the Asian Development Bank. The goal of the study is to inform policy decisions aimed at promoting inclusive growth and reducing poverty and inequality in the countries of Central and West Asia (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, as well as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan).
