On Thursday, November 19, ISET hosted Zurab Japaridze, a member of the Parliament of Georgia. The title of his presentation was “As of the Argonauts to Shevardnadze”. Zurab presented the economic history of Georgia and discussed various factors affecting its development along the way. The material was unique and heavily based on different alternative historical sources describing economic phenomena of the past.

წინა წლებში საქართველოს მთავრობა ამაყობდა, რომ საქართველოს წამყვანი ადგილი ეკავა მსოფლიო ბანკის ბიზნესის კეთების სიმარტივის ინდექსში. ინვესტორებმა, პოლიტიკოსებმა თუ ეკონომიკის მიმომხილველებმა ეკონომისტის მსგავს გამოცემებში დაიწყეს სვეტების დამატება , სადაც ნახავდით მთელგვერდიან რეკლამებს, თუ რატომ არის საქართველო „განსხვავებული“ ყოფილ საბჭოთა ქვეყნებს შორის, როდესაც საქმე ბიზნესის კეთებას ეხება.

მათე მოციქულის, როგორც გადასახადების ამკრეფის, საქმიანობა ალბათ ყველაზე მეტად საძულველი პროფესია იყო ძველ დროში. სამუშაოზე თავის დანებებისა და იესოს მიმდევრად გახდომით მათემ ალბათ ერთ-ერთი უდიდესი პიროვნული მეტამორფოზა განიცადა, რაც კი შეიძლება მოხდეს ადამიანის ცხოვრებაში. ცხადია, თანამედროვე გადასახადის ამკრეფებს იესოს გზით სიარულს ვერ მოვთხოვთ.

On November 12th, President of ISET and ISET-PI, Eric Livny moderated a panel discussion on “Competing Water Needs” organized by the USAID policy-advocacy project Governing for Growth in Georgia (G4G). Representatives of all water-using sectors were invited to participate. The discussion included the viewpoints of stakeholders in the agriculture, environment, and energy sectors.

On November 5th, 2015 APRC at ISET Policy Institute presented the final results of a study called Regulatory Impact Assessment on crop insurance in Georgia. The goal of the workshop was to present and discuss the final results of RIA which was conducted by the APRC team from June to October 2015.
