2018 წლის დეკემბერში პოლონეთში გასამართი COP24 კლიმატის ცვლილების კონფერენციისთვის მზადების დროს მკვლევარებმა გამოაქვეყნეს კლიმატის ცვლილების მთავრობათაშორისი პანელის (IPCC) ანგარიში, რომელშიც ხაზს უსვამენ, თუ რამდენად მნიშვნელოვანი შედეგები მოყვება კლიმატის ცვლილების შედეგად გლობალური ტემპერატურის სულ რაღაც ნახევარი გრადუსით, 1.5-დან 2 გრადუსამდე ზრდას. IPCC-ის უახლეს ანგარიშზე ცხარე დებატები გაიმართა, რის პარალელურადაც ამ წელს ნობელის პრემია ეკონომიკაში უილიამ ნორდჰაუსმა მიიღო.

On December 13, Ellie Martus, a co-fund fellow at the University of Warwick, visited ISET to talk about environmental state capacity in Georgia and other countries of the former Soviet Union. She presented an overview of her research, under the framework of which she is going to explore the capacity of Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, and Armenia to design, implement and enforce environmental policies.

Taking care of the environment around us is our collective and individual responsibility. On October 20, a large clean-up event was held in Mtskheta initiated by the International School of Economics (ISET). ISET academic staff and students actively participated in the event. The location was chosen for its touristic importance, as Mtskheta is a place that attracts many visitors every year.
