3-5 ოქტომბერს ISET-ის კვლევითმა ინსტიტუტმა და გარდამავალი ეკონომიკის ქვეყნებში სასოფლო-სამეურნეო განვითარების ლაიბნიცის ინსტიტუტმა (IAMO) სამდღიან საერთაშორისო კონფერენციას უმასპინძლეს. კონფერენცია ISET-ისა და IAMO-ს მიერ ერთობლივად იყო ორგანიზებული სახელწოდებით "სამხრეთ კავკასიის რეგიონში აგროსასურსათო ღირებულებათა ჯაჭვების ფუნქციონირების გაუმჯობესება".

The relevance of agriculture in formal employment dropped in many European, Central, and East Asian countries over the previous decades. The mutually reinforcing and interdependent processes of development outside the agricultural sector, along with significant urbanization, have resulted in new dynamics and diversity in the rural labor landscape. Remittances, as the link between urban and international migrants and their original households, have gained importance in sustaining rural livelihoods, especially in poorer countries and regions.

On September 22-26, 2014 researchers from the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Germany visited ISET in the framework of their research tour to Georgia. Several panel discussions and workshops were conducted with the goal to discuss current challenges of agriculture and rural development in transition countries.
