ISET signs memorandum of understanding with SMEDA

On 6 June, a Memorandum of Understanding between ISET’s Policy Institute and the SME Development Association (SMEDA) was enacted. The document was signed by Tamar Sulukhia, the ISET and ISET Policy Institute Director, and Grigol Paikidze, Executive Director of SMEDA.

Business Confidence Index: The downward trend continues!

For the second quarter of 2022, business confidence in Georgia decreased (by 2.2 index points) and reached 15.1. The highest decrease in business confidence is observed in construction (-29.7), and wholesale and retail trade (-7.6) sectors. The negative change in BCI for Q2 2022 was driven by significantly worsened past performance.

For the first quarter of 2022, business confidence in Georgia decreased (by 13.3 index points) and reached 17.3. The highest decrease in business confidence is observed in service (-25.8), manufacturing (-20.8), and wholesale and retail trade (-16.1) sectors.

ReforMeter hosts first Public-Private Dialogue on Insolvency Reform

ISET Policy Institute hosted the first Public-Private Dialogue on Insolvency Reform under our “ReforMeter” project. The PPD was attended by various stakeholders engaged in or affected by the reform. Attendees included reform implementing agencies – the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the Training Center of Justice (TCJ), the National Bureau of Enforcement (NBE), the Business Rehabilitation and Insolvency Practitioners Association (BRIPA) – as well as representatives from other donor organization, business associations, and consulting groups.
