ISET Policy Institute hosts roundtable on Russia's wheat policies and Georgia's response
Tuesday, 23 April, 2024

On  April 23 ISET Policy Institute hosted aan yet another roundtable discussion on "Russian Wheat Policies and Georgia's Strategic Responses".

The discussion was focused on a new policy note by ISET Policy Institute that examines the impact of Russia's wheat export policies on Georgia's market, particularly in light of recent global events. Georgia's heavy reliance on Russian wheat imports (over 95%) and Russia's history of using export restrictions as a political tool raise concerns for Georgian food security.

The event, funded by Sweden, featured a presentation of the ISET policy note followed by a discussion with experts from leading local and international institutions. This was an opportunity to exchange views on Georgia's strategic responses to these challenges.
