The International School of Economics in Tbilisi (ISET) and ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI) are seeking a Communications Manager.
The Communications Manager is generally responsible for improving the visibility of ISET’s academic programs and policy research activities and promoting its readership in international and regional academic, business and policy circles.
General duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and implement an annual communication strategy and action plan
• Manage ISET and ISET-PI websites and blogs (regular updating of all pages with the help of other staff)
• Work with the Multimedia Designer, other staff, and students to promote ISET and ISET-PI on social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
• Ensure media coverage of key events and products (writing announcements and press releases, organizing press conferences, communicating with media and information agencies)
• Together with the key staff Develop branding guidelines for ISET and ISET-PI
• Working with the Multimedia Designer and external consultants, managing the production of publicity materials (brochures, flyers, t-shirts, greeting cards, etc.)
• Build the capacity of ISET-PI research staff to communicate research results (writing, presentation, and interviewing skills)
• Manage external consultants to be engaged in IT support, translation, editing, design, and layout tasks, as needed
• Oversee the management of language quality of all English and Georgian publications
• Manage and upgrade specialized mailing lists, coordinating the distribution of publications, announcements, and invitations via e-mail and social media
• Manage and expand the range and quality of media partnerships in Georgia and abroad
• Duties specific to ISET’s educational programs, including but not limited to the launch of ISET’s new BA program
• Assist Dean of Students in planning and implementing student recruitment and admission campaigns in Georgia and other countries
• Work with Dean of Students in planning and implementing graduation ceremonies and major publicity events.
Required skills and qualifications:
• An university degree in the social sciences or communication
• Excellent command of English and Georgian languages (both speaking and writing) and superior writing/editing skills are a must. Strong interest in economics and economic policy, proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, diligence, initiative, and creativity
• Experience in recruiting and/or outreach and publicity for university-level programs is desirable
• Experience using basic computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of specialized graphic design, publication, and photo/video editing software is an advantage
• Experience in managing communications via web platforms and social media
• At least 3 years of experience with international organizations, businesses, or NGOs.
