
On October 26-27, the APRC attended the second workshop on mainstreaming Agenda 2030 requirements in the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) on Windbreaks Draft Law, organized by REC Caucasus with support from international donors.

On October 4, 2018, the ISET’s Salome Gelashvili and Pati Mamardashvili gave a presentation during an inception workshop, “Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) of the Draft Law on Windbreaks”. This RIA was commissioned to the APRC team by REC Caucasus and implemented with financial support from the IFAD in the framework of the AMMAR project.

William Morris Appleman, Ph.D. Candidate at the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI) conducted a one-week-long intensive course entitled "Fundamental Principles of Economics" for the second cohort of our brand new BA program (first cohort students were also invited and many attended).

On May 17, Norberto Pignatti, the head of the Energy and Environment Policy Research Center and professor at the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University, was invited to discuss good and bad practices characterizing the Regulatory Impact Assessment exercises in its presentation “Conducting RIA in Georgia: an academic perspective”.

“I very much liked the business case-based teaching method. Business cases will be very useful for vocational college students, as real-life examples are much better in inspiring them to start their own business.” As business cases are based on real-life examples from Georgia, using them in entrepreneurship classes will make them much more amusing for students to attend.”
