On June 3 2016, a Round Table Discussion of Tea Cooperatives was held in Kutaisi. This was the third event in a series of dialogues about agriculture and rural development in Georgia organized by ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI) in partnership with CARE International, the Regional Development Association and the Georgian Farmers Association, with support from the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).

2016 წლის 3 ივნისს, ქ. ქუთაისში, სასტუმრო „არგოში“ გაიმართა ჩაის კოოპერატივების სამუშაო შეხვედრა. ეს იყო ISET-ის კვლევითი ინსტიტუტის მიერ CARE საერთაშორისო კავკასიასთან, რეგიონული განვითარების ასოციაციასა და საქართველოს ფერმერთა ასოციაციასთან ერთობლივი თანამშრომლობით ორგანიზებული მესამე ღონისძიება სოფლის მეურნეობისა და სოფლის განვითარების დიალოგების სერიიდან, ევროკავშირის მიერ დაფინანსებული ENPARD-ის პროექტის – „თანამშრომლობა სოფლის კეთილდღეობისათვის საქართველოში“ – ფარგლებში.

Georgian retail food prices are up 1.1% y-o-y (May 2016 vs. May 2015) and 1.0% down m-o-m (compared to last month). Compared to mid-May, cheese, apple and carrot experienced the biggest price declines of 8.5%, 8.4 %, and 7.1%, respectively. The prices of cabbage, buckwheat, and peach are up by 8.3%, 8.3%, and 7.1%, respectively.

On May 27-28, Along with APRC representatives and the ENPARD team at ISET Policy Institute, ISET students took part in a field trip to the western regions of Samegrelo, Guria, and Racha-Lechkhumi. They conducted interviews with cooperative members supported by ENPARD (European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development), whose project is implemented by a CARE consortium in those regions, of which ISET is a participating member.

On May 25, APRC researcher Ia Katsia attended a working meeting organized by Geostat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Food, and the Agriculture Organization. The aim of the meeting was to update the data on recent and pending changes in the Sample Survey of Agricultural Holdings and review the results of the 2014 Agricultural Census 2014.
