On March 30-31 ISET-PI team took part in an interim research workshop conducted within the framework of a multi-country study “Good Jobs for Inclusive Growth in Central and West Asia” organized and financed by the Asian Development Bank. The goal of the study is to inform policy decisions aimed at promoting inclusive growth and reducing poverty and inequality in the countries of Central and West Asia (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, as well as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan).

On Tuesday, March 29 ISET and the Asian Development Bank co-organized a seminar on Inclusive Economic Growth in Georgia. The event was part of a joint project of ISET and ADB, Good Jobs for Inclusive Growth, aimed at creating conditions to enable inclusive economic growth in developing countries. In addition to focusing on inequality in income and opportunities, the seminar examined the issue of social protection and the development of institutions.

2014 წლის ოქტომბერში, საქართველოს პარლამენტის მიერ მიღებული ვიზის ახალი რეგულაციების ამოქმედებიდან ცოტა ხანში, სეულში, სამხრეთ კორეის დედაქალაქში მომიწია ჩასვლა. უკანა გზაზე, სეულის აეროპორტში უსიამოვნო სიურპრიზი მელოდა. ახალგაზრდა ბორტ-გამცილებელმა შეამოწმა ჩემი (ისრაელის) პასპორტი და განმიცხადა, რომ, არსებული სისტემის მიხედვით, სტამბოლის რეისზე დავიშვებოდი მხოლოდ იმ შემთხვევაში, თუკი წარმოვადგენდი საქართველოს ბინადრობის მოწმობას ან შევიძენდი კორეაში უკან დასაბრუნებელ ბილეთს.

The 17th Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty, held March 14-18, 2016, at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C., gathered stakeholders from government, the development community, private sector, and academia to discuss land policy issues worldwide. ISET-PI was represented by Pati Mamardashvili, head of our Agricultural Policy Research Center (APRC).

Using the panel data on the German and Ukrainian labor markets, Prof. Pignatti and his co-authors Thomas Dohmen (University of Bonn, Maastricht University, IZA and DIW, Berlin) and Hartmut Lehmann (University of Bologna, IZA and DIW, Berlin) show that risk attitudes have permanent (exogenous) determinants that are valid at different stages of economic development and in different structural contexts.
