ISET continues its student policy paper seminar series for the institute's (now graduated) second-year students. This time, Tatia Sosiashvili, Megi Tsikoridze, Nino Aladashvili, and Sopo Basilidze presented their joint paper on tax administration in Georgia. Their project, entitled “Current Challenges in Tax Administration (VAT)”, was supervised by Eric Livny, President of ISET and the ISET Policy Institute, and Sophiko Skhirtladze, an ISET Resident Faculty member and head of the Private Sector Development Policy Research Center.

The two-day field trip to Racha (a highland area in western Georgia, located in the upper Rioni river valley and hemmed in by the Greater Caucasus mountains), included visits to Blauenstein Georgia and the Natural Products of Racha agricultural cooperative, during which local representatives of the farm and cooperative introduced ISET students to the current operations, capacities, and highlights of their respective enterprises.

საქართველო პოპულარული ტურისტული ადგილი გახდა – 2016 წელს ქვეყანამ 6.3 მილიონ ტურისტს უმასპინძლა. 2017 წლის მაისში, საერთაშორისო ტურისტების (ვინც ქვეყანაში 24 საათი და მეტი ჩერდება) რაოდენობა წლიური 19%-ით გაიზარდა (2016 წლის მაისთან შედარებით). რა თქმა უნდა, ქვეყნის ძირითად სასაზღვრე პუნქტად კვლავ თბილისის აეროპორტი რჩება, თუმცა მაისში ბათუმის აეროპორტმა გაუსწრო ქუთაისის აეროპორტს, რომელიც დაბალფასიანი ფრენებითაა პოპულარული – ბათუმის აეროპორტში ჩამომსვლელების რაოდენობა 20%-ით გაიზარდა.
