The next energy revolution is on our doorstep, and it is going to be driven by renewable power generation technologies, which potentially allow for a much more decentralized power system and a less heavy network. Still, power transmission network projects worth USD 40 trillion are being financed through different state and private investments all around the world.

რამდენიმე კვირის წინ ელონ მასკმა (SpaceX-ის და Tesla Motors-ის გენერალური დირექტორი და, სხვა მრავალ კომპანიასთან ერთად, SolarCity-ის სამეთვალყურეო საბჭოს თავმჯდომარე) ორი ახალი პროდუქტი წარადგინა: სახურავის მზის ფილები SolarCity-სგან და Tesla’s Powerwall 2 (ბატარეა), რომლებიც ერთად გამოსაყენებლად შეიქმნა და რევოლუციას მოახდენს მზის ენერგიის ფოტოელექტრო სისტემებში. ამ სიახლემ აღაფრთოვანა მთელი მსოფლიოს (მათ შორის საქართველოს) ენერგეტიკის დარგის სპეციალისტები, გარემოს დამცველები და განახლებადი ენერგიის მხარდამჭერები.

ISET is proud to announce that resident faculty member Norberto Pignatti has recently become a research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), a private, independent research institute based in Bonn (Germany), which conducts nationally and internationally-oriented labor market research. IZA runs the world's largest research network in economic science, comprising over 1,300 international Research Fellows and Affiliates, as well as Policy Fellows from business, politics, society, and the media.

On November 10, ISET hosted an EBRD group with a keynote speaker, Alexander Plekhanov, Deputy Director of Research at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. He presented the EBRD’s Transition Report, entitled “Transition for All: Equal Opportunities in an Unequal World”.

In what has been a decidedly international few months for ISET with recent visits to Japan, Norway, and India (as well as a trip to Uzbekistan in late October), yet another member of the institute's faculty has traveled abroad, this time to Germany.
