On November 8, 2013, ISET hosted the first event in a series of discussions on the topic of inclusive growth. The topic of the event was Land ownership of agricultural land: political stability and social cohesion vs. economic efficiency. The presentation opened with a short video prepared especially for the dialogue and was followed by a short presentation about the sector.

On October 23, 2013 ISET hosted a strategic dialogue on Georgia’s national competitiveness. Eric Livny, ISET’s Director, opened the dialog with a brief presentation of the major changes in Georgia’s competitiveness performance in the 2012/13 Global Competitiveness Report. Georgia improved from 77th to 72nd position; the country saw the largest improvement in the macroeconomic environment while doing slightly worse in the labor market, healthcare, and primary education pillars.

ცნობილი ამერიკელი პოლიტოლოგი სამუელ ჰანთინგტონი წიგნში „მესამე ტალღა: დემოკრატიზაცია მეოცე საუკუნის ბოლოს“ (1991 წელი) მსოფლიოს პოლიტიკურ ისტორიაში დაფიქსირებულ დემოკრატიზაციის სამ ტალღას აღწერს. პირველი ტალღის შედეგად წარმოიქმნა კლასიკური დემოკრატიის მქონე ქვეყნები, როგორიცაა: გაერთიანებული სამეფო, ჩრდილოეთ ამერიკა.

On October 11, 2013, ISET was pleased to host Swiss Ambassador to Georgia H.E. Günther Bächler. In introducing his presentation the ambassador outlined his interesting career track, which started with a BA in Art and History of Art and then moved to conflict studies and diplomacy.
