
In October 2024, the cost of preparing one standard Imeretian khachapuri reached 6.62 GEL, reflecting a 2% increase from September 2024 and an 8% rise compared to October 2023.

The project, Cost-Benefit Analysis of Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Options in Selected Sectors in Georgia, supports the World Bank’s Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) by providing an in-depth analysis of the agriculture and tourism sectors.

In July 2024, the average cost of cooking one standard portion of Imeretian khachapuri was 5.78 GEL, reflecting a 2.9% decrease compared to June 2024. On an annual basis, the price remained nearly unchanged, with a slight decline of 0.04% compared to July 2023.

For the countries in the South Caucasus, health hidden costs amount to 87%, 88%, and 92% of the total quantified hidden costs of agri-food systems. In terms of the share in GDP, they subsequently comprise 18%, 16%, and 22%, respectively.

In June 2024, the average cost of cooking one standard portion of Imeretian khachapuri stood at 6 GEL. After three months of a declining trend, the index increased by 2.9% compared to May 2024. On an annual basis, the average price is 6.8% higher than in June 2023.
