On 28 October, Giorgi Papava, lead economist at ISET’s Policy Institute, took part in an event organized by the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), the main topic of which was the 2023 budget project. Giorgi engaged in a panel discussion with Tsotne Karkashadze, head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Planning Department of the State Audit Office, and Shalva Mkhatrishvili, head of the Macroeconomics and Statistics Department of the National Bank of Georgia, where they spoke about the 2023 budget project and economic growth.

According to the IDFI, the country’s main challenge comes with the bold rethinking of approaches toward economic growth and, in general, policies. At the meeting, the IDFI presented various necessary recommendations for solving the economic challenges that Georgia currently faces.
