On 29 March, ISET Policy Institute’s researchers conducted training under the auspices of a USAID project – Develop Advocacy Capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Private Sector Associations (PSAs) – as supported by the USAID Economic Security Program and the USAID Economic Governance Program.
The key objective of the project is to strengthen the role of CSOs and PSAs in policy-making, to ensure their long-term sustainability, and to broaden involvement in local community development, policy design, and implementation.
The meetings were attended by CSO and PSA representatives from Tbilisi as well as those regions representing the following priority sectors: tourism, e-commerce, information and communication technologies, construction, financial technologies, light manufacturing, and solid waste management, among others.
The first training session was devoted to research methods and policy paper development, while the second topic was centered around policy advocacy. Each of these sessions was followed by group work, and the participants were actively engaged in discussions, Q&A sessions, and communal activities.
