ISET students participate in economic theory workshop at Lausanne University
Monday, 05 June, 2017

In addition to its other exchange programs, from last year ISET has actively built up a cooperative relationship with Lausanne University. A group of students and professors from the Business and Economics Faculty at Lausanne University visited ISET early this year and had a chance to take a course in Mechanism Design, taught by Motty Perry, a Senior Academic Advisor at ISET and Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick in the UK. In addition, they participated in a number of ISET-arranged seminars, touching upon various fields in Economics.

A delegation from ISET, composed of Florian Biermann (Assistant Professor at ISET), four second-year students (Tevos Matevosyan, Tatia Zhorzholiani, Robizon Razmadze, and Beka Chikovani), and an ISET graduate (Laura Manukyan), made a return visit to Lausanne, Switzerland. From 28 May to 4 June, the delegation participated in a number of seminars, including one by Nobel Prize winner Robert Engle entitled “Systemic Risk with Endogenous Cycles”. Most importantly, students from both universities participated in a research workshop conducted within Lausanne University, the purpose of which was to provide a platform for students to present their Master's projects and receive feedback. All the students actively took part and had the opportunity to build networks with the HEC faculty (Faculty of Business and Economics) for their future.

Both universities would like to thank the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) for supporting cooperation between ISET and HEC.
