ISET Lead Economist Luc Leruth addresses G20
Monday, 08 February, 2021

In early February, Dr. Leruth gave a presentation to the G20's Task Force on Multilateralism and Global Governance. His address, entitled "Identifying Ultimate Beneficial Owners: A risk-based approach to improve the transparency of international financial flows", is also the key aspect of a research paper that is being co-authored and produced by representatives from the universities of Liege and Tilburg; it will be published by July. To have a member of ISET's faculty address members of a G20 Task Force is an extremely proud moment for ISET. The institute offers heartfelt congratulations to him on yet another career achievement.

Dr. Luc Leruth joined the institute in late 2020 as the Lead Economist at the Governance and Social Policy Research Center. Dr. Leruth has held a number of senior positions over his long and varied career, including serving as the Head of the IMF's Fiscal Transparency Unit, Secretary of the G-10, and Director of several Regional Technical Assistance Centers of the IMF in Africa and the Pacific. Despite only having been at ISET for a few months Dr. Leruth has already proved an effective and popular addition to the ISET Policy Institute, actively engaging in a number of research initiatives and authoring articles on a variety of topics (this latter activity should not be particularly surprising, since along with his stellar professional and academic career, Dr. Leruth is also a successful author with an artistic passion for writing).
