ISET’s ReforMeter is back on track to keep an eye on both planned and ongoing economic reforms in Georgia. With that in mind, ISET Policy Institute held an online live event to review the goals and objectives of the project.
The project aims to increase the role and participatory power of media in the economic reform implementation process in Georgia by equipping Georgian media representatives with the necessary skills and creating an easily accessible online repository on economic reforms.
2017 is shaping up as one of the best years in Georgia’s post-2008 crisis history. The economy is expected to expand by about 5%, beating early expectations and official forecasts by the likes of the IMF and the World Bank. Based on updated GeoStat figures for Q1 and Q2, ISET-PI’s annual growth forecast currently stands at 4.9%.
The objective of this initiative is to complement the mission of ReforMeter by providing an in-depth analysis of government reform efforts through policy briefs, innovative indicators and other analytical products.
On July 18, 2017, Mr. Nicola Mariani, managing partner of Dechert Georgia LLC, visited ISET within its Summer School programme and discussed economic reforms, political transition, and development organized by the International School of Economics (ISET).
