Identifying sectors with high growth and export potential

The "Inclusive Access to Markets" (IA2M) project aims to enhance the competitiveness of Georgian SMEs in EU and European markets. Under this initiative, UNDP commissioned the ISET Policy Institute to conduct a study to identify sectors with high growth and export potential. The objective of the study is to analyze existing research materials and data to identify at least six promising sectors or subsectors.

ReforMeter hosted second public-private dialogue on water resource management reform

On January 31, ReforMeter and the USAID Economic Governance Program hosted a second public-private dialogue dedicated to assessing the progress of the water resource management reform. The reform assessment includes an overview of the activities outlined and executed under the new law "On Water Resources Management" that was adopted by the Parliament of Georgia on June 30, 2023.

Geostat has released its rapid estimate of real GDP growth for November 2023. The estimated growth stands at 5.9%, while the average real GDP growth for January-November 2023 reached 6.9%.

In 2023, Georgian power plants generated 14,396 mln. kWh of electricity, record high generation for a single year. This represents a 1% increase in total generation, compared to the previous year (in 2022, total generation was 14,247 mln. kWh). The increase in generation on a yearly basis comes from the increase in hydropower generation (1%) and thermal power (2%), while wind power generation decreased (-2%).
