On May 27-28, Along with APRC representatives and the ENPARD team at ISET Policy Institute, ISET students took part in a field trip to the western regions of Samegrelo, Guria, and Racha-Lechkhumi. They conducted interviews with cooperative members supported by ENPARD (European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development), whose project is implemented by a CARE consortium in those regions, of which ISET is a participating member.
We are proud to announce that Giorgi Bregadze has been promoted to the post of Head of the Research and Planning Department of the Georgian National Tourism Administration. He is now leading a team of three researchers that includes two ISET graduates. Over the past few years, three ISETers had their first work experience under his supervision and then went on to enjoy successful careers in various government organizations.
On May 8, an ISET team participated in the “Wings for Life World Run 2016” charity event held on Lopota Lake in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. In total, ISET representatives ran almost 15 kilometers.
ISET is proud to welcome visiting professor Vojtěch Bartoš to teach an elective course in Development Economics from May 7 to June 25.
Unless its glorious past during the Soviet Union, the Georgian tea sector rebounded in the late 1990s and early 2000s, yet only partially as the economic and political stability of the post-independence period left a mark on the overall productivity of the sector.
