ISET Policy Institute's Lead Economist Takes Part in the World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty

The 17th Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty, held March 14-18, 2016, at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C., gathered stakeholders from government, the development community, private sector, and academia to discuss land policy issues worldwide. ISET-PI was represented by Pati Mamardashvili, head of our Agricultural Policy Research Center (APRC).

HEC Lausanne and ISET Conduct a Joint Workshop on Economic Theory

On Monday, February 15th, ISET and the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) jointly organized a workshop on economic theory and related fields. The workshop took place in the conference hall at ISET from the afternoon until the late evening, interrupted only by various coffee breaks, which gave the attending students from ISET and HEC Lausanne the opportunity to connect with the presenters, build up their professional networks, and discuss frontier research in economics.

Economics, Health and Happiness

On January 14-16, 2016 ISET-PI’s Senior Researcher Nino Doghonadze attended a conference centered on the discussion of, “Economics, Health and Happiness” in Lugano, Switzerland. The conference brought together interdisciplinary researchers from approximately 60 countries.

ISET Presentation at the UNDP Conference on Agricultural Extension

The UNDP conference on agricultural extension, which took place on December 7-9th, featured a 45-minutes presentation of the Social Policy Research Center (SPRC) of ISET-PI. Professor Florian Biermann, head of the center, discussed some preliminary findings of the project “Farmer Knowledge Needs in Georgia”.

ISET-PI Participates in Global Think Tank Summit

On May 20-22, 2015 Lasha Labadze, Deputy Director of ISET Policy Institute attended the Third Global Think Tank Summit in Manila, Philippines. The Summit was co-hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the ADB Institute, and the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania. The general topic of the summit was Inclusive Knowledge Partnerships for Development and it comprised panel discussions on best practices and innovative knowledge partnerships.
