Innovation-driven growth has long been understood as a restless, uneven process. In the Schumpeterian tradition – captured formally by Aghion and Howitt’s model of creative destruction – economies progress when new, higher-quality technologies displace older ones, pushing the productivity frontier outward.

On 28 February 2023, ISET hosted Ivailo Izvorski, World Bank’s Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia, who delivered a seminar on 'Education and innovation for growth'. The seminar was well-attended by members of the academic community, researchers, and students. Izvorski discussed the important role that education and innovation play in promoting economic growth and development, as well as the opportunities and challenges of modern education systems.

On 25 November 2021, ISET Policy Institute presented the results of its Information quality standards for the participants and beneficiaries of the Agricultural Knowledge and Information System (AKIS) project. The project was supported by UNDP and implemented in collaboration with the Environmental Information and Education Center (EIEC) of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA).

Back in 2005, as there was no mobile coverage, my uncle drove dozens of kilometers to the Jvarboseli village in Tusheti to inform me that I had enrolled in university. Now, in 2020, there is still no mobile signal in most Tusheti villages, including Jvarboseli, however, people can use broadband internet to reach out to the world!
