According to the ISET Policy Institute's latest projections, based on August’s data, Georgia's economy is expected to grow by 5.8% in the third quarter and 6.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025. The annual growth in 2025 is expected to be 7.3%.

On 16 December 2022, ISET Policy Institute introduced the “Caucasus and Central Asia Regional Economic Outlook” presentation, led by Selim Cakir, the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Resident Representative for Georgia. Mr. Cakir discussed the key challenges affecting the economy throughout the region.

2013
2013 was a challenging period for Georgia. Elections, political and policy instability contributed to the significant slowdown in economic growth. Apart from the internal factors, external factors also contributed to the slowdown. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) data, world economic growth has decreased from 3.2% to 2.9% and IMF forecasts that the world will catch higher growth rates in the following years.
