On the first day of their classes, second-year MA students of the International School of Economics in Tbilisi (ISET) were notified about an amazing opportunity – a week-long study visit to Stockholm, Sweden, fully funded by the Swedish Institute. From November 5-9, four students will have the chance to spend a week in Stockholm, meeting with representatives of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swedish Institute, Swedish Civic Society, SITE, and students and professors of Stockholm School of Economics, which is one of the leading economics institutions worldwide. This visit will be packed with interesting events, meetings, and activities aimed at creating ties between Georgia and Sweden, and will give the students an opportunity to widen their horizons, learn more about international economics, and meet with inspiring professionals from various fields.
The students were chosen based on their academic performance and an interview. With many academically strong students, the top eight were given a chance to be interviewed, and from these four were chosen. The final selection includes Ana Jangveladze, Sevak Hovakimyan, Nika Megutnishvili, and Valida Pantsulaia. "I was happy when I heard that SSE would host us. It is an honor to represent ISET and I believe that this visit will be a foundation of joint educational programs by ISET and SSE, which will benefit the students of both universities," said Nika Megutnishvili.
ISET wishes the best of luck to its students and would once again like to thank the Swedish Institute for funding this trip and the Stockholm School of Economics for hosting our students.
