On 25 May 2016 ISET faculty member and head of the Macroeconomic Policy Research Center at ISET's Policy Institute, Dr. Yaroslava Babych, was an invited panel speaker at the conference on Industrial Policy for the Development of Georgia, organized by the Centre for Social Studies of Georgia.

On 21 April 2016, ISET hosted Maria De Paola from the University of Calabria, who presented a paper by Vincenzo Scoppa and De Paola herself, entitled 'Procrastination, Academic Success and the Effectiveness of a Remedial Program'.

ISET is proud to welcome Professor Avner Shaked, a regular visiting scholar and a member of our International Faculty Committee. This year Prof. Shaked will teach a Game Theory class in the first year of our Economics MA program, and Industrial Organization (IO) in the second year.

ISET is proud to welcome Maria De Paola, a visiting professor working at the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance at the University of Calabria in Italy. Currently an Associate Professor of Economics, Maria obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Rome.

The Inter-Conference Symposium of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) entitled “Agricultural Transitions along the Silk Road” took place on April 4-7, 2016, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was organized by the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) and hosted by Kazakh National Agrarian University (KazNAU).
