On Thursday, April 2nd, Giorgi Bakradze, the Advisor in Economics Issues to the President of the National Bank of Georgia, gave a public lecture organized by ISET. The main topic of his presentation was the Formation of Exchange Rate which addressed currently occurring exchange rate changes. More than 400 students and other interested individuals attended the meeting.

In December 2014 ISET-PI has been awarded a 5-year grant by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) providing the Institute with the opportunity to transform itself into the premier economic policy think-tank in the South Caucasus.

ISET Policy Institute uses innovating approach to provide an analytical foundation to assess the indirect economic benefits of continued donor investment in the EWH corridor. ISET Policy Institute was contracted by the World Bank to assess the indirect economic benefits of the East-West Highway.

Assessment of economic benefits of the road, water and sewage infrastructure rehabilitation performed in several Georgian cities in the framework of the World Bank Regional and Municipal Infrastructure Development Project (RMIDP + AF).

On February 18, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) lead economist for Central Asia and Georgia, Agris Preimanis, delivered two presentations at ISET titled: 1) “Oil-driven Russia downturn adds to weakness in EBRD economies” and 2) “Innovation in Transition”.
