ISET Policy Institute hosts UNDP and government-supported working meeting, analyses information quality standards in agriculture

On November 13, the Agricultural and Rural Policy Research Center (APRC) of the ISET Policy Institute conducted a second stakeholder working meeting under the auspices of a project entitled “Information quality standards for the participants and beneficiaries of the Agricultural Knowledge and Information System (AKIS)”. The project is supported by the UNDP, and implemented by the Environmental Information and Education Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (EIEC), along with the ARPRC itself. The main objective of the working meeting was to overview AKIS in Georgia and discuss the information quality standards for the participants and beneficiaries of this system.

ISET Policy Institute’s team starts RIA training course with USAID

Starting from October 26, the ISET Policy Institute team, in cooperation with the USAID Economic Governance Program, started an online training course in Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) for public servants. The aim of the training is to provide participants from the selected institutions a clear understanding of the purpose of RIA, its structure and implementation, and how it works within the context of Georgian. The course will also develop and strengthen the participants’ technical skills that are necessary to conduct standard RIAs in accordance with the RIA methodology approved by the Government of Georgia in January 2020. The training is organized around specific RIA steps, included practical group activities every week, and will last for a total of seven weeks.

Agricultural Policy Research Center hosts workshop for UNDP, EIEC and NGO representatives

On October 22, ISET Policy Institute's Agricultural and Rural Policy Research Center (APRC) conducted a stakeholder workshop entitled “Information quality standards for the participants and beneficiaries of the Agricultural Knowledge and Information System (AKIS)”. ISET Policy Institute’s research paper published by Caucasus Analytical Digest

The ISET Policy Institute has once again demonstrated its relevance and focus on the regional economic research with the publication of a research paper in the 117th issue of the Caucasus Analytical Digest (CAD), a bimonthly online magazine. The Institute’s article, 'International Diversification of Agricultural Trade of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia', was written by Phatima Mamardashvili, Salome Gelashvili, Ia Katsia, and Salome Deisadze and examined the agricultural trade relations of the three South Caucasus countries from 2002-2018. The research analysed the differing economic results from the three countries' individual foreign trade policies, particularly with regards to the varying levels of cooperation between the South Caucasus nations and Russia and the European Union.

ISET signs exchange agreement with top French university

ISET has broadened its international connections by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Clermont-Auvergne University, a leading public university in central France. The MOU will allow ISET students and faculty to visit and study in France, and – most exciting of all – includes a clause that provides for the future development of dual degrees to be granted from both universities. The broader cooperation between parties will also cover exchanges of researchers, development of research programs, participation in conferences, workshops and seminars. The agreement was signed after a more lengthy process than expected due to the travel complications caused by the ongoing coronavirus crisis; senior Clermont-Auvergne faculty were scheduled to visit ISET in May, only for their trip to be cancelled.
