In May 2018, Georgian power plants generated 1,161 mln. KWh of electricity. This represents a 6% increase in total generation, compared to the previous year (in 2017, total generation in May was 1,093 mln. kWh). The increase in generation on a yearly basis mainly comes from an increase in hydropower generation (more details in the report).

On a monthly basis, generation increased by 9% (in April 2018, total generation was 1,064 mln. kWh).

The share of electricity produced by renewable sources decreased to 93% of total generation (1085 mln kWh), while thermal power generation increased in comparison to April 2018, accounting for 7% of total generation (76 mln. kWh).

In April 2018, Georgian power plants generated 1,064 mln. KWh of electricity. This represents a 30% increase in total generation, compared to the previous year (in 2017, total generation in April was 817.2 mln. kWh). The increase in generation on a yearly basis mainly comes from an increase in hydro power generation (more details below).

On a monthly basis, generation increased by 7% (in March 2018, total generation was 997 mln. kWh).

The share of electricity produced by renewable sources increased to 97% of total generation (1028 mln kWh), while thermal power generation decreased in comparison to March 2018, accounting for 3% of total generation (35 mln. kWh).

In March 2018, Georgian power plants generated 997 mln. KWh of electricity. This corresponds to a 35% increase in total generation, compared to the previous year (in 2017, total generation in March was 740.7 mln. kWh). The increase in generation on a yearly basis comes from an increase in both hydro power generation and thermal power generation (more details in the report).

On a monthly basis, generation increased by 7% (in February 2018, total generation was 934 mln. kWh).

The share of electricity produced by renewable sources increased to 78% of total generation (782 mln kWh), while that of thermal power generation decreased in comparison to February 2018, accounting for 22% of total generation (215 mln. kWh).
